ASTM Committee Votes to Renew ASTM F2561 for another Five Years

Ottawa, IL (June 1, 2016) – In April, the ASTM International committee F17 , Plastic Piping Systems and subcommittee F17.67, Trenchless Plastic Pipeline Technology, voted to renew the ASTM F2561 standard of practice an additional five years. ASTM F2561 was first published in 2006, first renewed in 2011 and now again in 2016.

ASTM F2561-16 is the standard practice for rehabilitation of a sewer service lateral and its connection to the main using a one piece main and lateral cured in place liner. The practice covers the requirements and test methods for the reconstruction without excavation. The lateral pipe is accessed remotely from the main pipe and from a lateral cleanout, if available. A resin impregnated one-piece main and lateral CIPP lining is installed by the use of air and inversion. The CIPP liner is pressed against the host pipe by pressurizing a bladder and is held in place until the thermoset resin has cured. LMK Technologies Announces Newest ASTM Standard for Vacuum Excavated Cleanout

Ottawa, IL (July 24, 2015) – LMK Technologies’ VAC-A-TEE® Trenchless Cleanout System now meets the newly published ASTM F3097-15 Standard. ASTM Standards are an instrumental tool used by specifying engineers throughout North America to provide guidelines that ensure the optimum results for a given product or procedure. These standards are often adopted into project specifications for the purpose of describing installation methods, materials, testing procedures, and a minimum level of quality for products and a specific scope of work.

ASTM F3097-15 is a standard practice for installation of an outside sewer service cleanout through a minimally invasive small bore created by a vacuum excavator. The process begins with locating the service lateral pipe by use of a locatable sewer camera that is robotically launched from the main pipe. Once the lateral pipe is exposed, a self clamping saddle is prepared with a special adhesive and lowered into the small diameter bore hole until it contacts the lateral sewer service pipe; a downward force is applied to the riser pipe causing the side walls of the saddle to spread and encompass more than 50-percent of the host pipe. LMK’s Patented Hydro Hat Withstands Multiple Patent Reviews Initiated by BLD Services

Ottawa, IL, November 30, 2015 – Recent rulings of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the United States Patent and Trademark Office have no impact on the continued validity of the fundamental patent claims surrounding LMK’s commercial embodiments for the Insignia Seal™. LMK, in fact, prevailed on petitions filed by BLD on patent claims surrounding LMK’s commercial embodiments for the Insignia Seal™. Specifically, claims covering the Hydro Hat™ remain 100% intact and valid following BLD’s multiple unsuccessful challenges to LMK’s patent claims. The PTAB also determined that some of the claims of U.S. Patents 7,975,726; 8,667,991; and 8,667,992 were unpatentable. However, those patent claims are not focused on the Hydro Hat™ sealing gasket, but primarily describe materials and methods that are not practiced by LMK. LMK remains committed to the Hydro Hat™ gasket because of its superior performance. Importantly, patent claims covering LMK’s Hydro Hat™ are still considered valid and enforceable, and the technology is very valuable to utility owners and their rate payers. Driving Business with a “No Dig” Approach to Sewer Repair in London, Ontario

When Steve Stefanidis launched Liner Guys Inc. with his long-time associate and co-founder Mike Rodger, he not only thoroughly understood the sewer and replacement industry, but also the void in the Ontario, Canada marketplace.

“Customer service was not a specialty, it was an add-on” explains Stefanidis, the company’s co-owner and co- founder. “I worked for several local organizations that did good work. But, I always thought it took more to get to the next level. Repeat customers and referrals demand and should expect quality at every level. People do not want to think about their sewer lines. They want you to come in, do the work and get out without any fuss or bother. We began Liner Guys with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and getting it right the first time.” Read More “Driving Business with a “No Dig” Approach to Sewer Repair in London, Ontario”
